A privately owned housing developer best in West Yorkshire are looking for a Graduate/Assistant Land Buyer to join their team in order to progress their career and develop into a fully experienced Land Buyer.
Client Details
This client is a privately owned housing developer who work across the Yorkshire area and pride themselves on the quality and consistency of their developments. They work on developments of up to 25 units per development and being a privately owned developer, they have the ability to buy large amounts of land and build up to 500 units per year across the different regions up and down the UK.
Description
This role will involve working alongside the Land Director and learning all the different aspects of the land buying role.
Your day to day role could involve:
Market Research: Conducting thorough market research to identify potential land acquisition opportunities, analysing local property markets and economic trends.
Due Diligence: Assist in conducting due diligence on potential land acquisitions
Financial Analysis: Collaborate on financial analysis, preparing models to estimate project profitability, construction costs, and expected returns.
Land Valuation: Help assess the market value of land parcels and participate in negotiations with landowners for favourable purchase terms.
Planning: Work with planning departments to understand and navigate the planning and process for potential developments.
Documentation and Reporting: Ensure accurate documentation of contracts and agreements, while providing regular progress reports to senior management and land director.
Profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have a property related degree – this could be in land, planning, construction etc – but it is essential that you have an understanding of what the role of a land buyer entails and understand that this is the role you will be moving into.
You will also already have experience working in the construction and property sector – this doesn't have to be in a land buying role, but you will ideally have knowledge of the construction processes. Experience already working for a housing developer or working in a land team would however be a big advantage.
