The school require a professional graduate to support the centre and a number of pupils.

My client school is an Alternative Education provision based in Newham. The school helps challenging children who have been excluded from mainstream schools to help them with their anger management and challenging behaviour with the hope of intergrating them back into mainstream school.

A number of the pupils have severe autism who are non-verbal. You will be set the work by the autism teacher who has designed an individual curriculum designed for each pupils needs.

The school will need you to know about PECS and positive handling. Staff are also skilled in Makaton so ideally the successful candidate will have a very good understanding of both PECS and Makaton and also BSL if possible.

The role is a long term full time role and the hours are 8:30am-4pm.

You must have a valid DBS which is on the update service to work in this school.

This school caters for individuals who are challenging however they are not violent and wont spit. They are seeking a positive and professional role model who enjoys the challenge and wants to help young people progress and overcome the barriers they face on a daily basis.
