Graduate Actuarial Trainee – £25,000 p/a + Benefits – York, North Yorkshire

The Role

H&C Consulting Actuaries are looking for a confident and motivated graduate to join their dynamic and growing actuarial team. This role will have a strong technical focus and includes a wide range of responsibilities in relation to our varied client base. This is a truly exciting opportunity to develop your career with a dynamic and growing company.

The key responsibilities of a Graduate Actuarial Trainee include, but are not limited to:

Carrying out actuarial valuations
Supporting de-risking projects
Performing individual calculations including transfer values
Preparing accounting figures
Performing other calculations including factor reviews
Drafting reports, letters and emails
Setting up clients using actuarial valuation software

The Person

This role is open to new graduates – as such, no experience is necessary. However, as our future Graduate Actuarial Trainee, we require you to have certain key skills and qualities. They are as follows:

Maths A level, minimum of grade C or above
Likely degree subject in Maths, Physics or Economics at either 1st or 2:1
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; and other computer software such as Outlook
Ability to effectively organise and prioritise own work and follow procedures, in order to produce work to a high standard, to required deadlines and to work independently
An enthusiastic and professional attitude, willing to get involved in a wide range of tasks
