Account Manage the world with the UK’s leading exporter of consumer magazines.   The Graduate (International Markets) Account Executive works with major publishers to ensure that UK magazines are on sale around the globe, profitably: “Grazia” in Greece, “Top Gear” in Toronto, or even “The Beano” in Benidorm, this is where it starts.

A Graduate Account Executive identifies sales and trade marketing opportunities, and efficiency improvements to be executed through in-country agents.  Market analyses and efficient export distribution identify how each magazine can achieve its full potential overseas.  

Key responsibilities as a Graduate Account Executive are:

Liaise closely with publishers across the full range of trade and publishing issues (the AM part)
Deliver timely, accurate sales reports highlighting key points and sales opportunities
Foster and maintain strong relationships with overseas agents and perform market analyses on their territories
Contribute to the management of trade marketing and promotional budgets and initiatives
Ideally, a Graduate Account Executive will offer the following experience and qualities:

Evidence of delivering key objectives and developing sound relationships
Experience of analysing data, administering business processes and contributing to forward plans
Effective team membership and communication skills
Well organized, developing a passion for one’s products and a will to succeed
Comfortable in a numbers-rich environment; a fluent user of analytical and presentational tools such as MS Office, particularly Excel.
Similar skills could have been developed in a number of academic courses, especially with a numerical element and/or a sandwich placement.  They would equally be fostered in a wide range of sectors such as Retail – Allocators, Merchandisers or Buying Administration positions, but also in FMCG, Market Research, Category Management, or other positions that demonstrate numeracy skills, multi-tasking in a fast-moving environment.
