Calling all Geography Graduates who are considering qualifying as a Geography Teacher!

That is why we specialise in supporting graduates to secure school-based experience for a full academic year, so they can make a fully informed decision regarding whether teaching is the career for them prior to applying for teacher training!

We are pleased to be working in partnership with an Ipswich based Secondary School who are looking to appoint a Geography Graduate who can provide effective support within their Geography department throughout this academic year:

***Geography Graduate required for an expanding secondary school in Ipswich
***Role commences from September 2019
***Geography Teaching Assistant/Geography Intervention Tutor/Geography Instructor
***£65 – £88 per day (dependent on role)
***Long Term, Full-Time Geography Graduate post
***You MUST hold a Geography based degree with a 2:2 or above
***Ideal for aspiring Geography Teachers looking for additional school experience
***Geography Teacher Training potential from September 2020

The successful Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant will have a passion for Geography that they are eager to share with others. You do not need to have any previous experience working in a school-based environment as training and support is provided however any previous experience working with the 11-16 age range would be advantageous.
The successful Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant will be motivated to start a career as a Geography Teacher and would benefit and appreciate a year working within a Geography department to strengthen their knowledge of lesson planning, lesson delivery, behaviour management, marking and assessment.

As a Geography Graduate you will initially start out as a Teaching Assistant whilst getting to grips with the school’s processes and policies. You will be communicating topics to students on a 1:1 basis; helping them to overcome any barriers to learning. In time, you will be tasked with planning and delivering your own small group intervention sessions with the ultimate aim of leading your own lessons prior to the end of the placement. You will be allocated a mentor who will support you throughout your time at the school.
