Learning Support Assistant or Cover Supervisor

Special Educational Needs and DisabilitiesEmpowering Learning are recruiting English Graduates to work on a full-time or part-time basis as a Learning Support Assistant within Mainstream and SEND Schools across Greenwich. You will be supporting pupils with different SEND needs such as Moderate Learning Difficulties, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Dyslexia and Autism. This position will give anyone considering a future in teaching valuable classroom-based experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Cover Supervisor. We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on individual that can take direction, and willing to take the lead on class when covering the class as a Cover Supervisor. Experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant or Cover Supervisor is not essential, as we will provide training and support.

Experience of supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities is desirable but not essential
Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS
Available 3-5 days a week and able to commit to at least 4 months
