The Centerprise HR & Support Department, under the brand name Vitality, has Group-wide responsibility to ensure staff engagement and retention and to deliver a range of HR Services. Following training, the successful placement student will join a team of three HR Professionals assisting them in every aspect of their people-related work in supporting the businesses within the Group. This is a fantastic opportunity, not only to gain knowledge and experience of how a busy, dynamic HR function operates, but to get a wider understanding of business practices by learning how the Vitality team supports employees and each business unit, whilst upholding the required levels of confidentiality and discretion.
The placement student will receive training and will have exposure to the following areas:
* Compliance – Learn the importance of keeping data secure, accurate and up to date and be involved in departmental auditing.
* Eligibility to Work/ID/Reference Checking & Vetting – Ensure verification checks are undertaken for new starters and previous employees, in line with internal policy and legislation.
* Onboarding – Supporting the HR Advisors in the preparation of Welcome Pack documents, company-wide communication and welcome goodie bags for all new employees. Responsible for organising Inductions and compliance training for joiners and thereafter, manage the probation process.
* Time & Attendance – Ensuring accurate attendance data is recorded and managed with the Business Managers as appropriate and data is provided to Payroll within the agreed deadlines. To also be responsible for holiday, wellbeing and sickness absence bookings and maintaining holiday and absence spreadsheets.
* Documentation & HR Records – Preparation of letters and documents to capture changes to employment Ts&Cs, training commitments and other changes as well as taking meeting notes. Ensure full and detailed personnel records are routinely updated and maintained.
* Fleet Management/Car Allowance Policy – Assist in the management of the Group’s fleet vehicles; allocated and pool cars, and to ensure employee adherence to Company Car Policy as appropriate.
* Quality Standards – Working closely with the Quality, Health & Safety Manager to create and maintain accurate work instructions for the HR department to ensure quality standards are met.
* General Administration – Maintaining spreadsheets, assisting with hotel and travel bookings, hire & pool car requirements and aiding the team with any ad-hoc tasks.
* Company Support – Front-of-house cover, active participation in Company promotional events or Charity activities; including Open Days/Forums, fund raising initiatives/events etc.
* Student Representative – Be a spokesperson for the student cohort regarding their feedback and queries through the duration of the placement
There are a handful of in-house workshops that you can request to attend, covering a range of business related topics that aim to complement your placement experience. There will also be the opportunity to get involved with our charity and social committees and gain experience in creating ideas, helping to deliver team events and build great communication skills.
As with all personnel within the business, the individual will also be required to show:

Essential Skills & Experience
* Possess excellent written communication skills
* Confident and professional when communicating verbally or in person
* Possess the ability to prioritise workload and work to sometimes challenging and changing deadlines
* Familiar with Microsoft packages i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
