Engineering Graduate Jobs are more spaced around the UK than other graduate sectors. Yes London has a lot of Head Offices, but actual engineering plants and factories are based in areas of cheaper land. They are quite often in more rural areas.

Requirements for Engineering Graduate Jobs.

Engineering Graduate Jobs & Engineering Graduate Schemes usually require an engineering degree. The degree specialism such as Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical will define suitability.

In terms of the grades required. Often a 2:1 is required for the top, popular competitive schemes. However 2:2 degrees are often still accepted. Graduate Engineers are sometimes not so easy to find. Therefore especially in more rural areas, employers will consider all grades for the right person.

There is quite a large fluctuation dependent upon specialism. An Entry level engineer working for a rural company might start at £18,000. A Graduate Engineer starting within the Oil & Gas industry might start on £35,000.
Within the most popular UK Engineering Graduate Schemes the salary usually sits between £22,000 and £29,000.
The AGR Graduate Recruitment Survey Summer Review reported that the median graduate starting salary with AGR-affilated engineering and industrial companies was £25,250.
The High Fliers report states that the Oil & Energy starting salaries are £32,500 for 2015. Please note though that this has a large London & Oil & Gas Industry bias.
The report also looks at Median Graduate Salaries by sector. Engineering & industrial Graduate starting salaries were £24,000-£31,000 for 2015.
